I'd like to implement a MusicXML import feature. If you have a recent version of BIAB, could you send me some BIAB files exported in MusicXML ? I would need BIAB files that use various features: push/hold/rests, 1 to 4 chords per bar, etc.
Thanks for your help !

I am a long-time BIAB user and beta tester. I would be happy to help you. Please give me a little more guidance to choose a song, perhaps a song name and style that you like. Should it have lyrics (mine don't)?

What I need is one or more songs where various BIAB features are used. I need to see how they are saved in .xml to be able to accurately import them in JJazzLab.
Features (taken from the pdf BIAB manual...) - Use A, B... part markers - Use multistyles - Use different "song structure" features: repeats/Coda/1st/end endings... - 1 and more chord symbols per bar - Various chord symbols using push/rest/hold/shot/pedal - Use melody/solo part
Ideally I would need, for each song: - .xml - .sgu or .mgu - A file (screen-capture of the song ?) which gives me the corresponding BIAB settings (mandatory to know what to look for in the .xml)
I listed many things but if it's too much work just focus on simple songs, it will get me started.
Thank you !

Let me work on this. A few are features that, while part of BIAB, most of us don't use such as multistyles (not really featured anymore) and 1st endings (for complicated song forms, it is easier to make it one long song).

How would you like me to send you something? Email? Website link to my files? And is a jazz standard OK to start with?

As you want, you can use the email from the jjazzlab web site /contact page.
Jazz standard is fine.

OK, I have files for you. They demonstrate everything you requested except multistyles. I used the standard, Blue Bossa by Kenny Dorham, then made some modifications to demonstrate things like shots, holds, Tag, etc.
I'm preparing a text file to describe what to look for and then I'll post a link to the files on my website.

OK, all done. I sent an email to contact@jjazzlab.com with a bunch of files that should meet almost all of your needs.
