Jerome After creating a backing track (and equivalent midi file ) in jjazzlab, how do I create/convert/record it into a standard yamaha midi song file on the arranger? This would allow me to add other parts like solos to the song on the keyboard and play it from the keyboard. Thanks for your help in advance.

I don't know what is "Yamaha midi song file on the arranger". JJazzLab can only export to a standard Midi file.

Jerome Thanks for your response. I know jjazzlab makes a standard midi file. Yamaha arrangers allow you to record midi songs and I have been able to record them when I play a midi file from my computer. For some reason, the files created from jjazzlab cannot be picked up by the arranger even though I see the midi being transmitted. One thing I noticed was, the midi files I'm able to record on my keyboard are in the XG midi format (which is an extension Yamaha made to the GM2 standardd). And so I think that may be the reason a standard midi file is not recorded. Is there a way to create or convert the midi file from jjazzlab into the XG midi song format? Thanks again.

JJazzLab exports to Midi file type "1" ( multiples tracks). Maybe Yamaha arranger keyboards expect Midi file type "0" ?
