I've just Downloaded jjazzlab to my Mac. No problem getting it running. However, it sounds terrible - like a cheap toy keyboard from the '80s. I believe you have a fix for that: the Jazzlab Soundfont, which I downloaded, but was uncertain then how to proceed. I'll acknowledge here that I'm a musician, not a computer geek - finding my way around new software is not an easy or intuitive process. When I moved the Soundfont download to my desktop it immediately wanted to attach to Musescore (which was open and in use). That didn't seem like a good idea, so I've left it alone. How do I go about using Soundfont with Jjazzlab, without interfering with the Musescore software? Or will the Soundfont inescapably have a global effect on midi (or virtual synth - not even sure what the proper terminology is) functions on this computer?
It would be nice if there were some sort of user manual available that detailed functions, keyboard shortcuts, etc. I realize creating that would be a lot of work. But I suspect there are many folks out there - musicians like me who grew up in the pre-digital era - who love the convenience and functionality of applications like JjazzLab but often have a difficult time learning to use them. I suppose we could be accused of laziness; on the other hand, life is short and I want to make music not learn computer science. That's not a complaint directed at JjazzLab, just a general observation.
Thanks for your help.

Thanks. I hadn't seen the second one you referenced.
I still want to make sure it isn't going to somehow mate with Musescore as well. I'm afraid I'm quite ignorant of how this stuff works.

There should be no problem.
If you haven't already done it, I recommend you watch the beginner's tutorial below. It's in French but there are english subtitles.

Thanks, Jerome. I'll proceed with the Soundfont installation. I did watch the vid, but I'm sure I'll learn more from watching again.
