Hi everyone. Just found this yesterday and pretty stoked about what I think is a better way to create song ideas using this as a tool for trying different grooves and arrangements.
I also bought Band in a Box and it's OK, but it sort of takes control and I gave up fighting it. Example no easy way to make proper intros and endings. As well as the songs use real player which results in the Midi export being lame. If I had know about this software I think I could have saved myself $140.
I also have Chord Pulse which I like because of it's simplicity. I bought it as well. What I especially like is the quick way I can try different styles and arrangements.
I slowly making my way and last night I read the user guide from start to end. ( It's really hard to find on google) I also went looking for videos and there's only the official versions which are have no english narration so you are trying to follow and end up staring at the sub titles and miss stuff. I did learn a little bit but in the end I had to figure stuff out on my own. There's some home made videos but the guy stumbles around and takes 20 minutes to explain a 3 minute task. ( please learn how to edit videos dude)
So todays question is there any further resources available like a PDF user guide or properly made videos?
Thanks John Vere

I assume there's no answer. Thanks. I've slowly figuring it out anyway. But I will say it's a bit of a weak point. There's a lot of stuff missing from the user guide.

Hey, John. I just started using this program two weeks ago, so I am probably not the best qualified to respond to your post. But since I haven't seen another response yet, in the name of friendliness here I go... I am an English speaker. I see what you are saying, and agree that it would be nice to have videos in English. But I would also like to share that my experience with this program has been a very good one thus far, and even though the videos are not in English I have found them VERY helpful. I have also found this forum very helpful, and have been impressed with people's willingness to help answer questions and solve problems. I am especially impressed with Jerome's helpfulness when I have a specific issue. From what you said it sounds like you have already read the user guide. I found the online documentation to be very helpful. And, just in case you haven't noticed yet, if you click on the word "help" in the top menu of JJazzlab the first item you will see is the online documentation which I will link here: jjazzlab.gitbook.io/user-guide You may already know this, but the online user guide is searchable which can come in really handy if you are looking for something specific. You can also download a PDF of the user guide. I too have come from using Band in A Box with a DAW, and I find JJazzlab works way better for most of my needs, and am thrilled to have such a great program that is free to use. Sorry I don't really have anything new to offer in the way of instructional materials. This program is relatively new, and I think in the near future we will see some power users popping up with more videos and such. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy this program as much as I am and find the help you need to go further! Best wishes!
