I just discovered JJazzLab and want to try to get it working. It seems more versatile than iReal Pro. I looked at a couple of examples and then began to enter chords for a song. Then I discovered the RealBook files. This is going to be quite useful, however, I seem to have one huge problem. When I run the song, I see the Mix Console lights and the bar highlight both active a couple of bars before the actual audio. This lag or delay makes is difficult to play along.
Help!!!

Yes, I heard about this audio lag problem on some Mac version, when using the Java Internal Synth. Unfortunatly I have no easy solution: this is something I have no control over actually, the Java Internal Synth is part of the bundled JDK. Furthermore I develop on Windows, I don't know well Mac OSX so it does not help...
In general the Java Internal Synth is not a high-performance soundfont player. That's why on Windows and Linux I strongly encourage users to use a separate software synth. It's easy because there are good and free software on Win and Linux, VirtualMidiSynth and FluidSynth. I've searched a bit (not much) on Mac but did not find equivalent free software.
If you could find a decent software synth on Mac that can read the JJazzLab SoundFont, you connect it to JJazzLab via virtual Midi port, and I think the problem will be gone.

Are there any Mac users out there who have experienced and maybe solved this problem???

I reinstalled everything, including Java and it worked. I came back a few minutes later, plugged in my headphones and the delay was back. Pause and stop also take about two bars to take affect. I also don't have the metronome. Next, I quit and relaunched and it was fine again, however, I still don't have the metronome and the precount. There's still something strange.
Next, I need to figure out the best Rhythms and perhaps find others. It might be nice to be able to mark favourites.

You can: use shift-click on a rhythm in the rhythm selection dialog, then it will appear in the Favorites.
