Song adapted by my teacher by using 7th chords as I'm still studying the 9th chords.
This is the recording on youtube.
I hope you like it.

Hi Frederico,
Your teacher is obviously "jazz-oriented"... Satin Doll is a very good standard to train and understand 7th or 9th chords. It's one of the most played standards in a jam session because of the nice voicing. My comments: You've made tangible progresses ! that means to me that you play EVERY DAY the main "secret" to get better and better. However your performance is too soft and needs to be more aggressive with more syncopes, silences and sound icreases or decreases. in the theme you play there is an error in part B (Am7 D7) : you play D C BbA - should be : D C B A as B is the 3rd (key note) of D. At the end of the chorus you can play a short strike of G+ (G with augmented 5). That gives more tension in the loop to the beginning. Another nice thing in this Song is the use of a fith minor chord which leads to a 7th chord before going to FM7. I use it frequently. That gives a smoother voicing.
In your previous message about Cantaloupe Island you should try GospelFunk S220. I personlly thinks it's not the best standard for a beginner - Satin Doll helps more. Try "All of me" or "Blue Moon" (6/2/5/1 very popular progression C>Am7 Dm7 G7 > C). cheers hans

Hi! Thank you for the remarks yep, I play every day, as I work in the IT, the guitar has become my moment of relax and meditation when I hit a problem with my day to day work. My teacher is indeed jazz oriented, at moment we are going through the arpeggios over the chords, I'm still building up the positions on the fret board so I don't feel confident yet in trying out when recording Thanks for pointing me to the cantaloupe island style, I'll give it a try. TA! Federico
