Dear Jjazzlabers
Jérôme had already integrated the MEMO window at my request, which allows you to store (copy and paste) and have at hand song texts or instructions for an arrangement etc... But since the possibility of integrating links into Jjazzlab has been implemented - Jjazzlab has opened the doors wide to the outside world!
To improve my skills before rehearsals with my jazz friends (2 guitars, 1 double bass, 1 drummer) or when I'm learning a new jazz standard, I work on voicing the chords. Sometimes I am lacking inspiration or I don't know how the chord is positioned on the neck. Jerome has been kind enough to add a large library of chord diagrams to Jjazzlab (Tuxguitar). This is great - but sometimes I'd like to have only the chord diagrams of the chords I don't master immediately in front of me. I've submitted a suggestion to JL - not knowing if it's technically feasible or if it's of interest to many Jjazzlabers.
In the meantime, to satisfy my idea I used the functionality of Jjazzlab and external software to achieve my goals:
So I started with an idea that consists of creating "post-it notes" on which I note the diagrams and that I call with "open links" in Jjazzlab.
For this I used STICKIES, a great freeware "notepad" that can receive not only text but also (small) images (jpg and others) to copy the diagrams of my choice.
As Jjazzlab provides me with the diagrams, I just have to "cut" them on the screen with a "screenshot" program. GREENSHOT, which I know and which does the job well.
I cut out the diagram(s) one by one and paste them (Ctrl/V) into a Sticky "post-it" created with STICKIES.
It's not very complicated when you have made 3 or 4 of them.
I initially wanted to make a video on the subject but I don't have a great skill for the creation of video tutorials. So I preferred to make a (beta) Pdf tutorial that I'm attaching - I hope it's explicit...
If you find my tuto useful, I'd be happy to know it.
Musically
