When I want to change a rhythm of a part I get the error "Impossible to set rhythm StroumpfStroumpf.STY. Not enough available midi channels".
I have 2 rhythms in use in that project, each consisting of 8 channels.

Midi allows only 16 channels. Each instrument has its own channel, so the total number of used instruments can not exceed 16. FYI most Yamaha styles use between 4 and 8 instruments (see the "Nb inst." column in the rhythm selection dialog).

Dear Jerome, thanks for that! (Btw. JJazzlab is great)
So I didn't manage to replace one style by another, once all 16 channels are used. Is there a way to do that?

If a song has 2 rhythms with 8 instruments each, normally you should be able to replace one of the rhythms. I just tested this now, it worked for me.
So I need more data to understand what's wrong: what are the styles you use ? Can you send them to me ? (Add Attachment in the post) You can also send a screen capture that show the problem.

Hi, I am just a beginner with jjazzlab and at first I want to say kudos for this program!
I met the same problem very early, when I went through all the styles and wanted to learn how they sound. I just solved this problem by deleting as many of the variations in the lower part of the screen as was necessary to be able to change styles again.
This is not a comfortable solution, because you have to set the variations again, but it works.
Just in case, someone else is struggling with this matter.
Cheers!
