Hi. One of the thing arrangers are "smart" about is chord inversions.
JjazzLab seems to play all chords in root position? It there perhaps some way to override this that I have yet to find? :-)
Inversions on arrangers:
Example chords in C major, non-inverted:
C = C E G
F = F A C
G = G B D
Am = A C E
Sp, when an Am follows a C major, there is a huge jump in tonality.
My Genos (and BK-7m, and all other arrangers I've owned) keeps these "close", like you would on a Hammond organ:
C = G C E
F = A C F
G = G B D
Am = A C E
This way, you don't get jumps in tonality on chord changes.
I see some people note down which inversion they want their chords in, IF they want a different inversion than "closest".
ie: C root (C E G) is "C0", C first inversion (G C E) is C1 etc.
Some even use this nonclamenture to note where they want the 7th note on a C7, and call it the "C3" inversion.
Ie: C3 is G Bb C E, whereas C7 is C E G Bb
