Well, you're making a mountain out of a molehill.
I'm no Google or any company who tracks users across many sites to send ads etc. There is no company, I'm a hobbyist developer. JJazzLab code is open-source and free, with no ad, even on the website. Downloading requires no email, I have no idea who downloads JJazzLab. As clearly stated in the license agreement, collected data are anonymous and are only about feature usage -you can verify it, you have access to the code. The info lets me compute things such as 60% of users are on Windows, or 5% of users use the "Improvision support window". So please save your energy for real data-privacy scandals, there are many of them out there.

Being a hobbyist does not free you rom the obligation to respect your users' choices. You should inform them about tracking, and give them an option to opt out, or better yet, ask them if they want to opt in.
