Hi Jerome - Just tried the latest Linux release -4.0.1-1 on ubuntustudio and the program runs but get no sound out. I have tried minimal troubleshooting to no avail. Fliuidsynth is up with the loaded SF2. Had the same issue with the beta as well. Attached is the Log. JJazzLab_Log.pdf (73.42 KB) I have tried the Win version on Win11 and had no issues. please note the deb filese does not need the install instruction on the downloadpage. the deb file jis opened and installed with the package manager just by clikckingon it. BTW, thanks for working on this to get it to us before Christmas! Brau

No error in your log file. It seems it's a problem outside of JJazzLab ?
What do you mean ? JJazzLab directly connects to the fluidsynth shared library and loads JJazzLabSOundFont.sf2 (which is embedded in JJazzLab). If you run Fluidsynth yourself besides JJazzLab, this might generate conflicts.
When you run fluidsynth without JJazzLab, do you get sounds ? If yes, try quitting Fluidsynth, then run JJazzLab from a terminal. This way you might see in the terminal fluidsynth error messages which are not sent to the log file.

thanks, it confirms it's a problem outside JJazzLab. Do you have another app which uses FluidSynth ?

Jerome,
Just wanted to give yiou an update - the issue is resolved. The issue is/was fluidsynth which for some reason not work correctly with Jjazzlab for me ( No issues with Rosegarden or LMMS, I will blame it on PipeWire) so I just have it working with Gervill. No real issue for me at the momentl, I can always boot into Win11 to get the full experience with jjazzlab and export the midi file back into UubuntuStudio.
Again, thanks for the hard work and improvements you continue making.

FYI a user is currently creating a Linux flatpak package for JJazzLab. Should be out very soon.
