I have been using arranger keyboards for a many of years, both Yamaha and Korg. I am a guitar player using the keyboards for backing tracks primarily. I am not much of a keyboard player. I currently have the Yamaha sx 900, even with all the things that Yamaha has to offer like Chord Tracker and Chord Looper i still find it challenging to make arrangements than are structured correctly.
. I have been constantly checking iOS , windows / Mac apps for something like this. Band in a Box being the best so far but it’s to much and over whelming. Then i came across this . It was very quickly able to Create a simple song and connect it to the sx 900 midi . Outstanding sound !
For someone with a basic arranger understanding I was able to figure this out Jazz Lab very quickly. One thing that is confusing is you call Styles…..Rhythms . This is very confusing for arranger player since all manufactures calls them Styles.
I am still in the discovery process but have been able to answer most question myself . The approach you haven’t taken to the work flow is excellent.
I am sure I will soon have questions and lots of ideas for new functions in the coming weeks .
Well done !

Thanks !
I know, you're not the first to say this. I'm not a native english speaker, and in French we actually use "rythmes" for "styles" in that case, hence my mistake when I started writing JJazzLab many years ago.
I always wonder if it's just a minor confusion for english speakers, or something more serious that should be fixed (it would be not that difficult to fix).

On the Terms ….Style verses Rhythm.
I think it causes confusion for someone l with an arranger background.
If you make it clear in your documentation that style and rhythm are the same thing it would help a lot. Maybe consider adding (Style) after the term Rhythm in the documentation would helpful.
For more advanced users who are using the editing functions for Rhythms I think the term Rhythm becomes very import. Once you have edited the Style by adding user tracks and extending files of the classic Style then it is no longer in the classic recognized Style format. In the long term you may want consider using Rhythm to mean a style that has been modified and unique to Jazz Lab.
I don’t wish to over complicate things but you have developed an excellent application with a huge potential user base , now’s the time to closely think about terminology . I am sure you have lots of ideas for future development !
I am still working on getting a complete understanding of the operation so keep that in mind when reading.
Do you have an email for developers to contact you ?
