OS: 12.7.4 (Monterey) SW: 4.0.2 (JJazzLab-4.0.2-mac-x64.zip) Steps to reproduce: 1) Installed fluidsynth using homebrew (or so I thought) "brew install fluidsynth" 2) Ran bin/jjazlab and even held down Control (which bypassed one issue) but the OS complained about java not being from a recognized developer and there wasn't seemingly a way to bypass this. ... at this point, I noticed the homebrew install of fluidsynth failed. I tried running fluidsynth from the command-line which didn't work which clued me in. The reason why homebrew failed is that I had to (re)install the XCode command line tools. 3) Reinstalled XCode command line utils 4) "brew install fluidsynth" (again - wait .... and wait ... I guess this also updates all of my other homebrews which haven't been updated in a while) 5) Tested fluidsynth -- it's installed now % fluidsynth jjazzlab/modules/soundfont/JJazzLab-SoundFont.sf2 FluidSynth runtime version 2.3.4 Copyright (C) 2000-2023 Peter Hanappe and others. Distributed under the LGPL license. SoundFont(R) is a registered trademark of Creative Technology Ltd. Type 'help' for help topics. > 6) With fluidsynth loaded, I started jjazzlab again bin/jjazzlab (or cd bin ; ./jjazzlab) Still get the same error: 7) Tried control+click on jjazzlab and still get the same above error.

Solutions (or beginning of them)
1) First, use finder to navigate to JJazzLab-4.0.2-mac-x64/jdk/bin 2) Control-Click on java and dismiss the warning about unknown developers. This fixes the java error earlier. 3) Trying to run jjazzlab again, now I see a different error. "libjnidispatch-nb.jnilib cannot be opened ... developer cannot be verified". Similar message to the java issue ... same solution 4) Navigated to JJazzLab-4.0.2-mac-x64/platform/modules/lib/x86_64 then control-clicked on "libjnidispatch-nb.jnilib" in this folder. ... that didn't help. I still get the error but dismissing it (cancel) does load up the interface and I could start an example song (minor blues) which was working OK.
Hope this helps someone. Still seems to be a bit of a bumpy ride getting the program happy.
