@ rncwalker
3/ what do you mean? 4/ It only depends on the connected synth. In the case of the JJazzLab 4 internal FluidSynth, it depends on JJazzLabSoundFont.sf2. I would be happy if someone could spend some time improving this soundfont, adding new bass/drums sounds, optimizing size etc. Polyphone is a good free tool to do this.
5/ Complicated because JJazzLab is not designed for live performing.

Realized I zapped your post.
I agree. The zip files (realbook songs and user styles) were made a long time ago, they should be updated. I need help for this, this could be done by you or other users (I'll provide guidance to automatize things).
It's my mistake, in French we use "rythme" for "drums style", hence the confusion.

@jerome, #3, what I mean is change Pad to a Guitar, Harmonica, Organ, etc... on #4 to add more instruments to the style I look at a style as a band (Piano, guitar, bass, drums) and would like to add a musician to the band (Harmonica and/or Sax). I currently use S-YXG50, which has many instruments and cannot figure out how the change them. On #5, my thought is with a press of a key the current section that Jjazzlab in in will loop until the key is pressed again, then the song will continue as programmed. As for #2, could you not have a custom color selection that users could select their own color (Think of windows paint color selection) Robert

But you can already. Click on the instrument name in the mix console and pick any instrument

I was thinking maybe when adding a chord , you could add the ability to use the mouse by clicking on the letters and numbers that are in a list. Similar to what ChordPulse does.

Thanks a lot for Jjazzlab! I would like to be able to have the possibility of omit or add note(s) to existing chords. It 's really interesting for me to define "restricted" chords for the types of musis where the scale is limited (like asian music). I didn't find this feature in the version 3.2. Thank you for your help.

Allow transposing of chords to also transpose custom phrases (but not the drums and percussion of course).
This way if the user has made custom phrases for intro melodies and such, they can transpose whole sections very easily without having to worry about also transposing the custom phrases they have made separately.

I just reinstalled JJazzlab. The interface is in Italian, but then, as happened previously, after a few days it inexplicably returns to English. This isn't a big deal, but I still wanted to point it out.

rncwalker said: "5) Ability to repeat a section (By Midi command) for live use.
For example on a 3rd verse used for someone to solo on, you could allow 8, 16, 24 bars if needed so that several band members could solo.
The repeating of the section could be controlled as needed."

My Thoughts:
1. I wanted to point out that JJazzlab will already loop the selected song parts, (in case that is helpful for anyone interested in looping certain sections.)
2. I would love to see a feature where during playback I can press a key on the computer and it goes into "loop current section" and then when I want to finish the song out or move on to the next section I can just press that same key and it will turn off "loop current section" and continue playing the rest of the arrangement. Kind of like how the "L" button is currently functioning, but instead of looping the whole song it would just loop the section that was playing when the button was pressed.
3. Another feature request: Precount only works if you start song from beginning. Why not have it work for playing back from a certain song part too? That could be really useful for me.

@ chrisWith the current JJazzLab version there is no easy way to implement 2/ and 3/ unfortunatly. Note that precount works when playing selected bars (ctrl-shift-space), even in the middle of a song. You can also use F1 or F2 to jump to previous/next song part while playing, but if you used ctrl-shft-space to loop selected bars, the jump will remain within the selection.

For my use case it would be great to be able to pan the click left or right.
Or even further to be able to route each track (including click) to it's own audio output channel when using a multi-output interface.
Reason to pan the click for me would be so if I am playing guitar and have only a drummer, we could play along to the backing track with bass guitar, pads, keys, etc... and have the soundtrack going through both mains and monitors, and have the click only in our in-ears.
I realize you don't seem to intend this software for live use, but it has been so handy for me live already when I don't have any other musicians, and this is another functionality that could expand the use cases for this program even further.
Routing to separate audio outputs would be for the same reason, it would just give an added layer of versatility. I could send click through it's own output.
This program is BETTER for me than having a beat buddy drum machine. With click panning/routing options it could also serve as a bass buddy and more.
I know I have been throwing a lot of requests at you. Thank you for taking the time to consider them all!

@ chrisTo do more advanced Midi/audio routing, you should do it outside JJazzLab via a virtual midi software like LoopBe30 (for Windows) or equivalent, ie something which lets you control Midi channel routing. Then this virtual midi software connects to one or more software synths (ie VirtualMidiSynth, VSTs...), on which you can also control audio output.

Chord Analysis Function there are many applications available for iPad and for PC that analyze the chord progression in a song and give you a summary of chords used. Would it be possible to consider this as a utility in jazz lab.
One example of this is a Yamaha Chord Tracker which does this for the newer Yamaha rangers .

Documentation
would it be possible to set up the support documentation in a printable PDF file .that could be printed off. When I printed it off the formatting was not very good
I am from the old school and like to have a hard copy when learning a program .

Live Control Using Foot Switch
could you consider creating a function that will allow live navigation through a song using a Bluetooth or USB Footswitch.
for example ….. song sections verse A, Verse B , chorus Verse C .
